Bishop William Murphy II

As a mother who experienced the heartbreaking loss of my son, Benjamin, just four days after his birth, It Is Well with My Soul touched my heart in a way that few books ever have. Like Barakah, I know the unimaginable pain of leaving the hospital with empty arms and trying to navigate life while carrying a grief that words cannot fully describe. Reading this book brought back many emotions, especially Chapter 6, Mourning Grief Alone, which deeply resonated with my own journey. In the beginning, I never truly permitted myself to grieve. It wasn't until years later that I began facing the depth of my loss and allowing God to heal my heart. Barakah has written more than a book; she has created a compassionate guide that reminds grieving mothers they are not alone. Her transparency, faith, and practical reflections offer hope to women during one of the darkest seasons of their lives. I wholeheartedly endorse this book and believe it will become an invaluable resource for mothers experiencing the loss of a child. In fact, I believe every hospital should consider providing It Is Well with My Soul as part of its bereavement resources for families before they leave the hospital. This book offers comfort, guidance, and hope when it is needed most and will help countless mothers begin navigating their healing journey with faith and encouragement.

Best-Selling Author, Pastor, and Speaker

It Is Well with My Soul is a wonderfully written book about navigating through grief after losing a child. As a mother who lost her almost full-term baby, this book would have brought so much life to me when I felt alone and dead inside. Losing a child is something no one should have to face alone, and this book will be a great asset to many women who feel like they are lost.
